Vincenzo Natali
I’ve just finished watching Cypher which was directed by Vincenzo Natali. I’d just like to say that much like the rest of his work, it does not disappoint. I could easily type up a long list of what I love about this film but anything I’d say would just take away from the precision in the storytelling. If you have already seen it, touché.
I just need to watch Elevated and I’m all set for Splice when it comes out later this year.
Click here for the image that I’d really like to include but I’m afraid that it might be bordering on being quite the spoiler.
I finally found Dan in Real Life on DVD yesterday, it’s one of my favourite films so being able to watch it whenever I want makes me giddy.
I’ve just finished watching Adventureland and I’m pretty sure there is more pot smoking and drink driving in it than all of Pineapple Express.
And yes, they’re eating pot-cookies above.
I’ve just started watching Haute Tension (also known as Switchblade Romance in the UK and High Tension in the U.S.) as it was posted earlier on digg under one of the top ten horror movies from this decade.
I’ve only read briefly what it is about on the wiki and here is what I know starting out. It features two friends (Who both sound like Jean-Claude Van Damme) and their trip to one of their parents homes (Just like all good slashers).
Apparently the main selling points of the film are its plot, its plot twists and how it conveys said plot. Here’s hoping…
The one with the lesbian vampires
Hell yeah, I’ve haven’t got university for a whole month, which means I need stuff to do around the revision now.
Quick recap of today, ( If you just want to find out what I did today with a brief description about each activity, well my friend, this section will be right up your street (metaphorically speaking)):
• I went to my one and only lecture today, it was a complete and utter bore.
• Went to the labs afterwards with the guys so that some of them could finish off some work and hand it in, with the promise of some hardcore high-octane outside football… I was lied to.
• When I got home, I got out my guitar, set up my equipment, tuned and smiled as I’m going to attempt to learn properly over this month.
• Went over the village, went to the cinema, went home and ate pizza… Hawt!
Full trivial description of life:
Felt pretty gutted today, I’d missed a lecture last week at some point as I didn’t know about a piece of coursework that was due in today until Wednesday, my partner had already done it all though and I trust that he did it excellently, but it’s not fair that he should have to do all the work. It’s not even like I could say “I’ll do the next one!” cause I’d just bugger it up and fail us both. Ah well, I’ll just try my best on the next ones anyway.
My parents are out more than I am now due to my dad’s retired, how depressing is that?! They were out when I came back home as they were only out shopping in Parc Trostre, so it’s not too bad… Right?
I was pretty excited setting my guitar up, I felt it was about time I’d find out if my hand could hold a pick properly without feeling funny thanks to the break more than a year ago (Afterall if I can hold a pen properly, I should by now hold a thin piece of plastic for a few minutes by now and stop making excuses.)
Turns out I can hold it now, but that doesn’t mean I can play. I’m using headphones to cover the noise of shame that would otherwise come from the amp and I’ve set up my pedal so my mind might go “Oh Miles, that sounds good, you should keep it up.” “Oh thanks mind!” “No worries dude.” I think I’ll try Parabol by Tool, as it’s slow and only a few chords/ notes… Or whatever…
Rhys needs to clean his room, that’s all I’m saying about the student village…
Now, Lesbian vampire killers, it’s a downright fun film, didn’t take itself seriously and just had fun with a simple idea. For that, I enjoyed it, for the hot lesbian vampires, I loved it.
